Biography

Desiree received her Bachelors from Virginia Tech and her Masters from the Relay Graduate School Of Education. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has always had a passion for serving, especially as a mentor and advocate for young women. Before coming to Georgia Tech, Desiree served as an educator for a public charter school and taught 5th and 6th grade English Language Arts. While there, she planned and coordinated programs to promote social, emotional, and physical wellness in young girls. She also facilitated a program to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion to STEM, particularly for minority girls. Prior to being an educator, Desiree worked as an Assistant Resolution Manager for Navy Federal Credit Union where she was able to gain useful experience in event planning and project management.

Desiree loves to stay active by doing yoga and walking the Beltline. She also enjoys going to concerts and music festivals, visiting local coffee shops, and enjoying a good book.
