Crafted to offer middle school girls an introduction to technology, engineering, and computing, TEC Camp inspires girls to consider college majors and careers in these important fields. The format is highly interactive and designed to address the specific interests of middle school students.
June 8-12, 2020
Please note that TEC Camp is for rising 7th and 8th graders (students who are currently in 6th & 7th grade for the 2019-2020 academic school year). For a quick overview of our program, check out our 2020 Camp Flyer!
Please Note: the 2020 TEC Camp summer program has been canceled due to COVID-19.
Students participate in a multitude of activities to explore engineering and computer science. Here are just a few highlights of what your camper will experience during her week at TEC Camp:
- Participate in hands-on projects in areas like chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, and web design.
- Work on a project with a team of other students, and present group findings at the conclusion of the week.
- Meet and interact with Georgia Tech professors, students, and professional women.
Participants arrive on campus by 8:30 a.m. daily, and the camp ends at 4:30 p.m. Drop-off and pick-up information will be provided upon acceptance.
TEC camp is open to rising 7th and 8th grade girls who are interested in science, math, or technology, and the participation fee is $350, which covers tuition, meals, materials and supplies. Please do not send the fee until your daughter has been accepted. The camp is limited to 40 girls, and applicants are selected based on an essay and school transcript. The application process for TEC Camp closes April 6, so be sure to get your applications in before the deadline! Decisions on accepted applicants will be released on April 13.
